Results and score visibility

This page explains the most common question about abstracts: "Why can't I see my result or score?"

The short answer

An author sees their decision only after the organizer publishes results.

An author sees their average score and reviewer comments only if both are true:

  1. Results have been published, and
  2. Their abstract was accepted.

Authors whose abstract was rejected or waitlisted see the decision, but never the score or the comments.

When the score and comments are hidden, the Reviews section simply doesn't appear on the abstract's page. No message explains why.

An accepted abstract's details page in the attendee portal, with the Reviews card highlighted showing the average score out of 10 and each reviewer's comment.

What the author sees when results are visible

Once results are published, a green Results are now visible card appears at the top of My Submissions.

For an accepted abstract, the Reviews card shows:

  • Average score as "x.x / 10", based on the number of completed reviews.
  • Each completed review with its score out of 10, the date and the comment, or "No comments provided.".
  • The reviewer's name, or Reviewer 1, Reviewer 2, and so on when Blind review is on.

What publishing results does

Organizers publish from Abstracts > Review settings > Results visibility > Publish Results. Publishing:

  • shows the real decisions to all authors;
  • emails every accepted, rejected and waitlisted author;
  • gives every accepted author the Abstract Presenter role and the acceptance package (see Publish results);
  • stops all new submissions and edits for good;
  • opens poster upload for accepted abstracts.
Publishing can't be undone

You can publish results only once, and there's no way to hide them again.

Decisions made after publishing

Publishing doesn't require every abstract to be decided. Abstracts with no decision keep showing Submitted or Under Review, and their authors get no email.

If the organizer later decides one of them from the abstract's own page:

  • the author sees the new decision immediately;
  • the results email is sent;
  • if it was accepted, the author becomes a presenter.
Bulk decisions after publishing

Bulk decisions from the Decisions tab after publishing change the status that authors see, but they don't send emails and don't make accepted authors presenters. After publishing, decide abstracts one at a time from their own page.
